Derek had his first game last night. He did well. All the players bat so there isn't really a winner. But it was SOOOO funny to watch the kids fighting over who was gonna get the ball. Derek was on 3rd base so he didn't get much action his way. But he had fun.
When we first got there he had a little melt down. He didn't want to play. But the GREAT mom I am gave him a pep talk and he was fine. Next game on Saturday.
Cerah was everywhere... I didn't get to see much. Almost missed his first time at bat because she wanted to run around. Then she feel in the gravel..her chin looks GREAT!!! I'll get a picture of it...
I have pictures from the game but haven't uploaded them yet...
NOW FOR A FUNNY STORY!!!! (not by Derek..sorry :)
Every year we have a t shirt made for Derek of a player he likes on a team..football and basketball. And I've always gone to the same place to have it made...plus any shirts he wants...because he LOVES to wear shirts with his name and a #... anyhoo I got there and was informed they no longer do just 1 shirt it has to be 25!!! I was ticked off!!! So then I went to the other place and this lady I tell ya I don't know how she does it.Here's our conversation:
Me: I'd like to have a name and number put on the back of this shirt
Lady: What would you like?
Me: Jackson and the #1.... (Nate is Derek's new favorite player. He played bball for Larry 2 years ago too, Derek really likes him)
Lady: How do you spell Jackson??
(I'm thinking..is she serious???)
Me: J-A-C-K-S-O-N
She then proceeds to add up the cost when I tell her I want something on the front
Lady: You didn't tell me that
Me: You didn't ask ( I know I'm mean .. But getting kind of aggravated)
Lady: What do you want it to say?
Me: Hawks Football
Lady: How do you spell Hawks??
(Now I'm just ready to laugh)
Me: H-A-W-K-S
She writes down hawk's...
Me: There's no apostrophe in the word... she scribbles it out
Then she writes football
Lady: Is this how you want football spelt??
IS THERE ANY OTHER WAY!!!!!!!!!
Me: Yes
I pay and leave.... I just don't understand how a lady who does this for a living doesn't seem to know how to spell :)
AND HOW WAS YOUR DAY????

Seriously, wtf???? I know exactly what you mean. I am a previous English teacher... If I see one more invitation made by PARENTS that say "YOUR invited" instead of "YOU'RE" I will scream...how did they get this far in life? lol!
Are you sure you weren't in Idaho trying to have that shirt made? Sounds like something I would see around here. Oh well... I guess people are the same everywhere!
What a great idea about having a name and number on a shirt. I think I'll have Bryant try that. He'll think it's so cool. Thanks for the idea!
