Funny Derek story:

(Well not real funny)

Yesterday at school they had a lockdown..because someone in the high school got a threatening text message, so all the schools were on lock down. It was the first thing he told me about when I got him.

I asked him how his day was and what he learned today. His response:

"We didn't learn anything, we had a lockout drill."

I asked him what that was and he said..

"It's when we have to lock the doors, turn off the lights and hide from the bad people who came into our school and aren't suppose to be here".

WHAT!!!! I can't believe these poor little kids or any kids have to go through this...

Then he said..

"Do you know how to play hide and seek??? Well that's what we did, we had to hide from the monsters in our school"

I'm soo glad his school is prepared but PRAY that nothing bad ever happens.
