Sean Taylor

As many of you have probably heard Sean Taylor of the Washington Redskins died due to a gun shot to the leg. As I picked Derek up from school today he told me something happened to a Redskins player. When we got home I tried to explain to him what happened. I told him that a bad person got into his house and shot him in the leg. I told him he was bleeding too much , he said like when my nose bleeds. I told him no not like that...didn't want him to freak out next time his nose bled. Then he understood it had to be a lot. He wanted to know how the bad person got into his house. I told him I didn't know. He then asked " Mom is that bad person coming into my house" I told him no. He then asked me why there are bad people in this place. I just told him there were bad people everywhere but there are more good people than bad. He then said " Like the bad people who crashed a plane into the big buildings" I just looked at him and told him not to worry the police were gonna catch the bad person who did this. He said."Can you tell me when they do"

I love this kid. He talks to us like he's an adult..unless he's whining to watch spongebob :)

He wasn't even around when 9/11 happened. But we have told him about it. When it was on the news he wanted to know what happened. Then we watched World Trade Center together. I think it helped him understand some what what happened.

Larry and Derek are HUGE Redskins fans. I don't think we've missed a game on TV since I've known Larry.

Pray for his family. He was only 24 and had a young daughter.
