Here is my situation:
Derek is driving me crazy with not wanting to go to school. Some days he goes right into his classroom with no problems. Other days, like today, he cries, keeps saying mommy, mommy and he won't go in.
I know he likes school. If you've ever met him you know he's a little shy ( Wonder who he gets that from....hummmm LARRY). But he has gotten SOOO much better at being around new people.
So I'm lost. It breaks my heart to have him yelling for me as I'm walking down the hall. But I have to go.
So any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Cerah is TOTALLY different. She screams to go to school. Oh how different they are:)

All kids are different, but have you tried having him ride the bus? I don't know if that's an option for you, but maybe it would help him. Just a thought.
My Marley is just like Cerah. We were closed on Monday (b/c of the wind) and she was MAD when she found out!!
I would talk with Derek and find out why he doesn't want to be there. Maybe there is a kid teasing him? Maybe he feels overwhelmed by what is happening in class and freaks out about going in.
Have you asked his teacher how he's doing? Does he seem to be on the same level as the other kids or is he falling behind?
That's all the advice I can give, my kids never had any issues with school until they got a tad older and it was test day. I only had it happen twice where I heard, "I have a tummy ache", which just happened to be the same day they had a big test. LOL
Glad to hear that Derek is doing better (from the post above)... this is normal... Alli was like this... for a while she would love school then hate it, then love it again...keep shovin him in there! hee hee! It is hard to hear him screaming though! Hang in there!
Oh man, sorry I don't have any advice but I can only imagine how that must be for you to leave him crying. I hate that.
